It has been half a century since this unit was first manufactured. It has evolved into the most versatile combined drilling and tapping unit for special-purpose machines. The specialised unit is suited to high-volume production of specific parts in a short time. Special-purpose machines like this are used, for example, to machine large parts that do not fit into machining centres, long parts, and parts formed by 3D pressing that are difficult to transport and separate.
